Woman sacked 30 minutes into 'perfect' new job after she revealed intricate hand tattoo

A woman has told how she was sacked from her job after only 30 minutes after employers realised she had an intricate hand tattoo.

Claire Shepherd, 27, had been offered the role as a retail merchandiser with shopping company Dee Set after passing a phone interview.

But after receiving an email about the company's dress policy, Claire realised they included a note which said tattoos should be covered up.

Claire, from Swansea, replied explaining she had an intricate tattoo covering her hand in the hope the company would understand.
But barely half an hour after being offered a position, she found her services were no longer required.

Apology: Dee Set later apologised and re-offered Claire the job

Devastated Claire took to Facebook slamming Dee Set writing: "I'm totally disgusted".
She said she has six years managerial experience and her tattoos have never previously been a problem.

She added: "They clearly thought i had something to offer and would be the right person for the job as they had already offered me the position.

"I'm shocked that people still discriminate against visible tattoos. I just didn’t think this happened anymore."

It is understood Dee Set changed their mind and re-offered Claire the job after her Facebook post went viral. But she turned it down and has got a job with B and M instead.

A spokesman for Dee Set told Metro: "Deeset is a progressive, equal opportunity employer and recognizes this error in process during our peak recruitment period.

"We have explained to Claire that the job offer remains, we are currently recruiting all over the UK and we welcome all with the right skill set to join our growing team of retail experts."

More ink-redible tattoos are on show at the London Tattoo Convention this weekend. Hundreds of artists from around the world have jetted in to celebrate their needlework.

Kanye West & Jay Z's "N*ggas In Paris" Reimagined As Picture Book

You can become the proud owner of a picture book version of "N*ggas in Paris."

Schopenhauer once said, "talent hits a target no one else can hit. Genius hits a target no one else can see." Millions of us bumped "Niggas in Paris," the most bump-able/meme-able track from Kanye West and Jay Z's Watch the Throne, but nobody thought to transform it into a picture book. Except one person.
Bianca Bosso from The Interns is the mastermind behind the creation of a 32-page, PG-rated "Niggas in Paris" picture book redux called "Friends in Paris." If you take a look at the article gallery, you'll find a few pages from the book, featuring Jay and 'Ye frolicing around France with cameos from Drake and Kim Kardashian.

Bosso's Kickstarter campaign has been funded, meaning that this thing is really going to be printed, and you can really own one. Pre-order/support the project here and view the whole book digitally in all its glory here.

NBA Star, John Wall Spent $20,000 On A Portrait Of Himself!





The Washington Wizards' All-Star point guard, John Wall, is turning 25 years old on Sunday and what better way to celebrate his quarter-century than with a $20,000 portrait... of himself. Wall commissioned street artist, @Madsteez, to create the dope headshot which was made out of spray paint.

What he should also do, is have Mark Paul Deren come up with a custom pair of the Adidas J Wall 2 to be worn during the upcoming season. As long as it doesn't run him another 20 grand.
