Nick Cannon got some interesting new ink.
The America’s Got Talent host recently visited famed tattoo artist Dmitry Vision for a body art update, and the result? A black and grey, devilish-looking character holding a bloody heart on his right arm.
"He uses tattoos as time stamps in his life," a rep for INKED Magazine, which documented Cannon’s latest tattoo in a new celebrity series, tells PEOPLE.
Cannon's contentious split appears to be the dark "time stamp" represented in his new ink.
The TV personality filed for divorce from Mariah Carey in January after the pair had lived apart for months.
The new tattoo wasn't Cannon’s first trip to the parlor. He also had "Mariah" in big letters inked all across his back, as well as portraits of his twins with Carey, Moroccan and Monroe, both 3 ½.
After their split, Cannon covered the name tattoo of his ex.
"People suggested he laser it off, but instead he decided to cover it up with a back piece including Jesus on the cross and portraits of his twins," INKED explain. "So in lieu of erasing what happened between he and Mariah, Nick left it on his skin but had a tattoo applied over it as in he's over the relationship but doesn't deny that it was a part of his journey."
