The 24-year-old gave his 60.7million Instagram followers a glimpse at his latest design by posting an image to the picture sharing site.

With a simple caption alongside the photo Neymar wrote in Portuguese 'Boa Semana a todos / Good week to everyone.'

The new tattoo can be seen to be spread across both shins of the Brazilian icon and features a series of words in contrasting fonts.

Once translated Neymar's latest inked design carries religious connotations, reading: ‘God bless you and protect me.’

The recent addition to the striker's collection of body art adds to the several other designs he has about his person.

Neymar featured for the full 90 minutes in the Spanish giants's recent 4-0 win at home to Deportivo La Coruna, but could not find the back of the net himself.

Barca emerged comfortable victors after Rafinha bagged a brace and Luis Suarez and Lionel Messi were on target - the latter making his eagerly awaited return following a three weeks injury lay-off.

Neymar will now get the chance to showcase his new tattoo in person when he steps out at the Nou Camp to face Manchester City.

Barca currently lead the way in the group with six points from two matches.
City are hot on their tail but have racked up only four points so far this campaign after being held to a 3-3 draw at Parkhead against Scottish champions Celtic in their last outing.
